IMPROVE THE WAY
YOU MOVE
Poor posture is more than simply the way you stand or sit—it reflects how your body moves,
breathes, and supports itself throughout the day. Prolonged desk work, repetitive activities,
injuries, stress, and muscle imbalances can contribute to forward head posture, rounded
shoulders, thoracic stiffness, and abnormal movement patterns that place excessive stress on the neck, jaw, shoulders, and spine. These postural dysfunctions are commonly associated with neck pain, headaches, TMJ disorders, shoulder pain, upper back pain, and inefficient breathing.
Our providers perform a comprehensive evaluation of your posture, movement, muscle balance, joint mobility, and breathing mechanics to identify the factors contributing to your symptoms.
Treatment focuses on restoring efficient alignment and movement rather than simply reminding you to "sit up straight". Using hands-on manual therapy, we improve mobility of the spine, rib cage, shoulders, and surrounding soft tissues while reducing muscle tension that may be limiting normal movement. Individualized therapeutic exercises strengthen the muscles responsible for supporting healthy posture, improve flexibility where needed, and retrain movement patterns that reduce unnecessary stress on the joints and muscles. We also evaluate the relationship between posture, jaw function, and breathing to address contributing factors that are often overlooked.
Because posture is influenced by daily habits, work environments, stress, and breathing patterns, successful treatment extends beyond the clinic. We provide practical education on workstation ergonomics, lifting mechanics, sleeping positions, and strategies to reduce prolonged static positions throughout the day. Breathing retraining, neuromuscular re-education, and individualized home exercises help reinforce lasting improvements and reduce the tendency to return to unhealthy movement patterns. By combining evidence-based manual therapy, movement retraining, and patient education, our goal is to improve posture, decrease pain, enhance breathing efficiency, and help you move with greater comfort, confidence, and resilience in everyday life.
